Relative Therapies was opened in July, 2002 by sisters Sandra and Nicole Ferguson. Sandra's role was to manage the business and all the intricate details that come with that, thus leaving Nicole free to concentrate on securing only the best therapists to work along side her. Their vision was to have a clinic that treated clients with the utmost respect for their individual needs and also to create a working environment that was fun, encouraging, educational and supportive to therapists to allow them to do only their best work. Relative Therapies has grown and evolved - in 2005 Sandra left to live overseas with her own family, leaving Nicole to manage the business. This transition was made easier as the clinic had become well established and has now grown into a well known small business in the community.
Our team
As well as managing the business, Nicole is a Remedial Massage Therapist, Aromatherapist and has Certificates in Ear Candling, Cupping, Reiki I & II and Chinese Hot Stone Therapy. Nicole studied at Australian College of Natural Medicine along with one of the other Relative Therapies team members, Camille de Niese, who started at the clinic when they first opened in 2002. Camille is a Remedial Massage Therapist and includes Lymphatic Drainage and Touch for Health in her repertoire of modalities. She is currently studying Kinesiology and is also a Pilates instructor (not conducted at Relative Therapies), thus giving her a more comprehensive knowledge of the body and enabling the application of rehabilitation exercises for clients as appropriate. Peter Jeffery joined the team in 2005 and was a welcome contributor as he bought with him Shiatsu Therapy. Peter is also a Remedial Massage Therapist and studied at Shiatsu Australia and Southern School of Natural Therapies - thus he brings another style and more knowledge to add to the pool of experience at Relative Therapies. Peter also has a Certificate in Ear Candling and Chinese Hot Stone Therapy. Next to join Relative Therapies was Yannick Boribon, a lovely young lady who brings Remedial Massage and Reiki I & II with her, Yannick studied at Australian College of Massage & Natural Therapies and is currently studying Naturopathy. Amy Cohen joined the team mid 2006 and bought a whole new look to Relative Therapies - Amy is a Reflexologist and studied at Australian College of Natural Medicine, her experience of this therapy started on a personal level when she was sent to a Reflexologist by her GP! Amy is able to combines Auricular therapy with her Reflexology treatments and also does "Reset", a Kinesiology technique which balances the body through relaxing the facial muscles. Early in 2007 Anna Little joined us and added yet another wonderful modality to the clinic - Anna is an Acupuncturist, she studied at Australian College of Natural Medicine and brings with her a wealth of knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
