It is safe, nurturing & relaxing & can release physical, emotional & spiritual blockages. Often felt like waves moving over the body, the therapist uses fluid, continuous & rhythmic full body strokes either with the hands or forearms. On the physical level, muscle stress & tension are relieved, blood & lymph flow assisted & the elimination of wastes & toxins stimulated. The flowing movements relax the entire being, assisting the recipient in letting go of old beliefs, patterns & blockages, which can be stored in all cells of the body. When the energy of the body is restored & calmed, healing can begin. Aloha.

Bowen Therapy

A gentle form of body work that focuses on stimulating the fascia, our body’s largest communicative organ.  Fascia interfaces with soft tissue, bone, muscle, lymph, nervous and circulatory systems.  Subtle moves are applied across the muscles and connective tissue.  Some critical pauses also take place during this treatment.  This all sends messages deep into the body, retrieving cellular memory and encouraging the physical self to return to its natural state of alignment. Results can be remarkable, even from the first session; often only a few sessions are needed to correct the presenting problem.

The Bowen Technique is extremely gentle and is considered appropriate for anyone from pregnant women to newborn babies, the frail and the elderly. It can also assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon each individual’s capacity to heal.  No adverse side effects have been reported from this therapy.

It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest systems of medicine, dating back at least 3000 years. The underlying principle of Acupuncture is to treat a person as a whole rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. By inserting fine needles into channels of energy, located just below the surface of the skin, an Acupuncturist can stimulate the body’s own healing response and help restore equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of an individual. Acupuncture can help with a wide variety of health complaints such as: anxiety & emotional stress; arthritis/rheumatism; asthma; back pain; botox-free facial revitalization; circulatory problems; depression; detoxification from nicotine etc; digestive complaints; general energy boost; gynaecological issues; infertility/menstrual problems; migraine/headache; sciatica; skin conditions; sleep problems; sports injuries; tennis/golfers elbow. Acupuncture can also be used as a “preventative medicine”, maintaining health and wellbeing.

This involves inserting fine, single use, needles into muscle, trigger points, tendons, ligaments & other soft tissues. It is based on Western principals of anatomy, neurophysiology & pathology. Dry Needling can produce a variety of effects including the release of the body’s natural painkillers, relieving knots in muscles & releasing pressure from taut muscle bands. Used in conjunction with massage it can be an effective treatment for a wide variety of problems including back & neck pain, headaches, sporting injuries & inflammation.

AROMATOUCH TECHNIQUE

Using the wonderful Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils from doTerra this technique was created by a well known American chiropractor, Dr.David Hill.  It is a 45 minute treatment & only the top part of the body & feet are bare.  The individual receives the treatment, whilst lying face down on a massage table.  Essential oils are applied along the spine & then applied, using prescribed techniques into the entire back, the neck, nape, feet & hands.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

This is a treatment that uses the therapeutic qualities of heat & cold as well as massage to treat tension & stresses throughout the body.  This wonderfully relaxing treatment can be an indulgence for yourself or can be combined with a more “remedial” style massage to support your body in dealing with physical ailments.
